EL TESTAMENTO DEL JEQUE
Al morir el jeque, ordenó que se distribuyeran sus camellos entre sus tres hijos de la siguiente forma: la mitad para el primogénito, una cuarta parte para el segundo y un sexto para el más pequeño. Pero resulta que el jeque solo tenía once camellos, con lo que el reparto se hizo realmente difícil, pues no era cosa de cortar ningún animal. Los tres hermanos estaban discutiendo, cuando ven llegar a un viejo beduino, famoso por su sabiduría, montado en su camello. Le pidieron consejo y este dijo:
- Si vuestro padre hubiese dejado doce camellos en vez de once no habría problemas.
-Cierto, pero sólo tenemos once- respondieron los hermanos, a lo que el beduino contestó:
- tomad mi camello, haced el reparto y no os preocupeis que nada perderé yo en la operación.

The first form could be 10 bipods and 1 tripods ,because 10 bipods times 2 legs that they have is 20 legs and 3 legs that a tripod has times 1 tripod that there is,if you add 20 bipods'legs+ 3 tripods'legs equals 23 legs
The second form could be 4 bipods and 5 tripods, because 4 bipods times 2 legs that they have is 8 legs and 3 legs that a tripod has times 5 tripods that there are,if you add 8 bipods'legs + 15 tripods'legs equals 23 legs.
I think that it is correct.Bye!

ResponderEliminarHe encontrado la solución al desafío en español y es:
El beduino cede su camello, con lo que habrá doce; el primogénito recibe la mitad (6 camellos), el segundo una cuarta parte (3 camellos) y el tercero la sexta parte (2 camellos). Cómo 6 + 3 + 2 suman 11, el beduino recuperará su camello.

ResponderEliminarCristina, one of your options is right, but you forgot something when solving the problem:there were al least TWO of each of them, so it is not possible to have only ONE tripod. Try again!! You are really close!
One more thing: It is better to say "the first solution, or the first option, or way to solve the problem..." than saying the firs FORM. It is normally used to talk about shapes or medicine.
